Re: C64 Emulation

I know the whole point of this computer is to push beyond what a C64 can do. But since I do not have a C64 currently it would be nice to have some sort of C64 support or emulator. Is anything like this possible/planned? Nope. It's not possible with the current hardware, and there are no plans to tr...

Re: Suggestion: Do/Loop/While/Until/exit

Honestly, I think the team is done adding new BASIC commands. While DO loops are handy, they don't actually add functionality that can't be achieved with an IF/GOTO. We've had some discussion on the Discord, and I've even started working on a P-Code engine, but then David dropped the 65C816 and &quo...

Re: C 64 Beats a quantum computer?

The paper is a joke. Literally. This was written as a joke to poke fun at the IBM researchers who claimed their quantum computer could do something that classical computing could not - and then were discredited when someone did exactly that. From what I can tell, IBM made a claim about their quantum...

Network, MIDI, and Serial cards coming soon

From Kevin Williams on Facebook: Hey everyone, Novel time! It's been a long time since I gave an update on the network and serial card, and I do apologize for the delay. There were a few technical issues I ran into, as well as the fact that we had to decide once and for all how to implement networki...

We literally have a "buy" link on our web site. =)

That leads to a post with the purchase links:

Re: Dos Shell

I just tried extracting the zip file to a FAT32 formatted SD card and when it is run from there, things are working just fine. It seems that the issues turn up if shell.prg is run from hostfs (at least on Linux and most likely on MAC as well) I am not sure if there is an easy fix for this? Confirme...

SD Card Release 2024

We are proud to present the 2024 SD Card release! https://commanderx16.com/downloads/X16_SD_04-10-2024.zip From David: Ok guys. I've finally curated a new "official" SD-Card image. This is actually quite a challenge because there is so much software for the X16. It's tough to organize it a...
