Re: New Theme Available
By the power of asking permission or opinion from nobody, I've been playing around with Commander X16 inspired phpBB3 theming. My thinking is to throw away pretty much all compatibility to proSilver and do the front-end from scratch as I think the UI of these classic forums is rather flawed, especia...

Re: What PC case are you using?
But it's great to see all the unique builds that people make! For the cartridge slot I've been thinking if it would be possible to have an extender and then make a slot to the front of the case. Maybe modify the floppy drive plate that came with the case. Alternate placement could be below the PSU, ...

Re: X16 "Official" Artwork Reveal // Win an X16
To me the official case isn't attractive, the front face look like an unhappy robot. Overall feeling is also cheap plastic box which I can understand when combined with the existing keyboard, but then the price doesn't match. I also find it odd that the case uses a very different blue than the keybo...

Re: What PC case are you using?
The Checkmate A1500 Plus case was mentioned in this thread, so since that is what I decided to get here is how it looks like! The ATX screw holes were a bit off, had to keep the screws loose before having all of them in place, and only once had all of them in place I could screw all of them in. Gett...

PR00512 ended up in Finland
Feeling kinda lucky getting that, it is the nicest number after 256, 128, and 69.

During my adventures on the internet I found a place where people submit their palettes and noticed Dawnbringer's Aurora, which is a 256 color palette. It got my attention because handcrafted 256 unique color palettes appe...

I have updated the first post with a slightly improved version of the palette. Some of the gradients didn't translate well with simple rounded math, and bitshifting is even worse. So I've now improved the gradient colors by matching the closest perceived color by doing CIEDE2000 against the full 40...

Hello from Finland!
Hello! My real name is Vesa, but no, I have nothing to do with mounting your displays, graphics standards and the like. Also not to be confused with Vera nor Visa. If you are in a need of a Finnish etymology lesson (which you most likely aren't) vesa means a sprout, most often in the meaning of a y...

Commander X16 Default Colour Palette for Photoshop
Hi! There is a bug in the palette at cyan palette entry 152 where the hex value is #152A2A / rgb(21, 42, 42). This is impossible for a color converted to 8-bit from 4-bit, each pair should be the same value in hex so: 15 -> 11, 2A -> 22 or 33. However the color seems to be way too dark so probably ...

Thanks for all the interest!

As for the bad emulator colors there is only one way: gotta hook that emulator to a real monitor! Although I think the emulated CRTs have become a lot better, but probably still need a true HDR caliber display to get the same kind of "shine" that CRT has. I...
