It might be nice to open some new topic areas for discussion in the Off Topic lounge.
If you have a suggestion for a new topic area, drop a note here. Give us a suggested title, along with its suggested scope.
For example:
Hobbies And Interests
Discuss your creative hobbies: music, visual arts, crafts, collecting... whatever excites you.
My Programs
Share member created software that might be directly CX16 related. Of special interest are programs for retro computer systems, but anything made by our members here is welcome.

Two thoughts (one was yours so I'd like to 2nd it).
Thought #1: as you suggested, a forum where we can discuss retro-tubers; not a place to bash them however I see nothing wrong with spirited debate, but a place to call out good pieces of work by said *tuber (LGR for instance, or Robin from 8 Bit Show and Tell; two of my favorites). Not a place to mirror what they produce but if somebody sees something interesting/applicable that will gen discussion, this type of forum would be a good place to point to it with editorial comments, relating info, etc.
Thought #2: An 'Events' forum which can be used to announce then chronicle VCF East/West and CRX type meet-ups. Maybe someday some of us can even meet in person (crazy, I know).
Point is, "Vintage" or "Retro" is too generic of a topic and sometimes relevant and connected history gets lost over time.

Both the hobbies and programs sections sound like excellent additions.
One other idea that comes to mind for me sometimes would be a "Modern Computing" chat. For people to share or discuss modern hardware, software, games, or maybe get help with things not "retro"?

Yes ... a retro youtubers chat, a members/retro programming chat, and a "hobbies other than those with a specific chat" chat would be good headings.
If the main forum categories are Commander and non-Commander, it's an open question whether to add a members Commander programming chat to the Commander chat section and a members/retro non-Commander programming section to the non-Commander section, but I'd lean in favor.

I feel some of the success and longevity of this site is that its specific to the X16. That has built community here that will keep the site going until the x16 ships (someday) and beyond. I do like some expanding of the chat areas to accommodate other topics since the members here are interesting and respectful. Those additions will allow those members who aren't interested to read it to keep just to the X16 areas while those who want can go on the new areas to post.
I do feel that with the delayed X16 that some of the freshness and enthusiasm for the project has peaked and now most here are waiting patiently. Others may have put things on hold till hardware ships. Certainly having the forum keep people interested and connected is the goal.
I'll end with a little humour - I tell my wife every morning that I go online to read the whole internet, since I didn't finish scanning it the day before. ? Once the X16 ships the internet won't be as interesting and I'll spend less time on it.
