Most impressive X16 demo on release

Post by danboid »

I only joined this forum recently and I've only had a bit of a skim through the forum really so I freely admit I don't know much about the platform and its software. It's great to see some lucky people are getting their X16's now! If I can eventually buy a X16 gen1 for less that £200 I might bite but as for now I'm quite happy hacking my Uzebox.

I had a go with the X16 emu late last year and I tried a few games and demos out. What is currently regarded as the most impressive demo available for the X16 at its time of release ie now. By demo I mean as in a demo scene / cracktro style demo or the guts of a game.

We have a few... There's an X16 version of the STNICCC demo. Not realtime 3d, but certainly fast polygons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQ_YQL9IBJY (forum post: https://www.commanderx16.com/forum/view ... hp?p=25187)

There's a Wolfenstein 3D demo, no enemies and no control panel, and a fairly simple map, but it's interactive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CiuQAKgfII (forum post: https://www.commanderx16.com/forum/view ... hp?p=25144)

There's a multi-layer scrolling and YM2151 music demo featuring characters, settings, and tunes from Sonic the Hedgehog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-jxeB0Cubc (forum post: https://www.commanderx16.com/forum/view ... hp?p=15320)
