VisiCalc Clone written in BASIC

Post by Poe »

This is a rough draft version of a VisiCalc clone for the Commander X16 written in BASIC. It only has the SUM function working right now. But hopefully a future version will be more fleshed out.

It will load a test file right off the bat when you load it for demonstration purposes.

Just use the arrow keys to move the cursor around and see the TOTAL get updated automatically like a typical spreadsheet.

I had a lot of fun with this project. It was like paying homage to software with such a great legacy. :D

As someone who worked a lot with this kind of software back in 1982 to manage my business this was a great throwback.

will it also have floppy support in the future? :D  :D

We're no strangers to floppies here in the X16 community, so that would be something.

I'm glad to see some old users here with love for VisiCalc. "Spreadsheet" is my nickname among my non-technical friends.

I love modern spreadsheet apps and all, but I'm never gonna give up VisiCalc.
