Hello
First off, sorry if this was already covered previously.
I have an X16 which came with ROM version 47 pre-release. I am not sure if the pre-release is different than the final.
I ran the R47 version update which updated VERA to version 47, but how do I upgrade the ROM? I am looking to run the diagnostics in the ROM as I want to test the additional RAM I just installed and get the other goodies. I also didn't see any binaries for R48, are those embedded with the x16emu packages?
thanks,
Tyson

Re: ROM 47
You’ll get R48 ”Cadmium” here https://github.com/X16Community/x16-rom ... es/tag/r48

Re: ROM 47
Thanks for the link, I will try it.
Re: ROM 47
OK, I placed the ROM.BIN in the UPDATE folder on m SD card. I ran UPDATE.PRG and it do snot say anything about updating the X16 ROM, I it looks like it is just updating the VERA, see the attached image. I used the UPDATE.PRG that was from the R47 distribution. What am I doing wrong?

Re: ROM 47
Looks like you don't have the correct tool.
This is the only one I know of: https://github.com/FlightControl-User/x ... h/releases
It will update the Kernal, the VERA and the SMC. If you only want to update the Kernal, ensure that VERA.BIN and SMC.BIN don't exist in the current folder. You might get some warnings about those file not being found, but you may just ignore that.

Re: ROM 47
I realized I was using he incorrect update program. I download UPDATE v3 and it worked great, I am now on R48. Once thing I did notice is when the machine boots up I do not see the Commander X16 logo like I see on so many screen shots, is that a setting?
Re: ROM 47
Yes, that's a setting. If you have an AUTOBOOT.X16 file on your SD card, then the banner won't be loaded (unless the BANNER command is included in the autoboot file).
