Probably down to the size being in pixels rather than em. Additionally this specific font makes it worse as its made from 8 'virtual' pixels, so displaying it at 9px will always have some deformation. For me the middle bar in a 'S' disappears as it tries to draw it in the middle of two pixels. Those with a high dpi monitor won't see this. So to say its a cleartype problem isn't right.

To fix it I use a Chrome extension to inject the css below into the page.

.cAuthorPane_author strong { font-size: 1.3em; }

@Doigt your browser should download the font from Google. Do you have a 'funny' browser?

@Doigt Bumping the thread to complain about a variant of the behavior that nobody else on the thread has observed, but being unwilling to share your browser or system information, is not especially helpful.

But from inspecting the image you posted, you appear to be running with the same kind of font smoothing as the Windows users, and your browser is clearly not loading the intended web font for some reason. But since that's all we have to go on, I can't make any recommendations that would not be insultingly obvious:

Clear your cache. Clear your hosts table. Turn off your VPN and/or TOR. Turn off ClearType text in your Windows settings. Choose a different McDonalds to access the site from.

I also accept pull requests for x16emu, the official X16 emulator. (x16-emulator on GitHub)

Alright, sorry, I'll be more clear. My browser, firefox, does load the font if I disable a security feature. I have it enabled, as it should be. What I tried to say is that maybe that is why 66 is having an issue with the size as well as an issue with the looks. That is all. I don't have a "funny browser" and I'm not trying to be a troll about it like Yaz, I was trying to be helpful and point at the origin of the appearance because from reading the earlier posts, it seems that people haven't caught on to what is happening. That's what I meant by not having it installed.

@Doigt it's been a while... are you still seeing this on Firefox? What is the specific security setting you need to change to make the font work? I'd like to add that to a pinned topic at some point.

Thanks.
