Thank You for VERA. Can It be ported to Commodore64 and Atari800? Its amazing chip!

That would be interesting indeed if VERA were to become available for other Commodore computers.

Hello all,

My name is Frank van den Hoef and I am responsible for the design of the VERA module (the audio, video and storage hardware module), which is part of the Commander X16.

Hello Frank. I have been making a short vera mode demo program for the x16 and I must say that I am really impressed with your card design. If the card you have created would be available in the 80s, that would have been a real differentiator from VGA. I can't wait to see your card at work in time real X16 machine. If you're interested, it's this program I'm talking about ...

That VERA board is looking like a very versitile video/sound adapter. I'll bet it gets used by lots of developers and hobbyists.

It would be great to have a C64 Vera cartridge with a 512KB geoRAM compatible RAM expansion built in (which is a couple of registers in EXROM1 and a page of the expansion RAM appearing in EXROM2, so much easier to implement than the REU).

I'd bring my VIC20 out of storage if I could get an 80 column display and memory expansion for it. Just can't live with 22 column BASIC 2.0. It would be neat to make new stuff specifically for/with a VIC20 with a VERA cartridge.

PS. Frank, you rock! ?

Frank,

I have seen the 8-bit guy videos on youtube.  I am not a 6502 programmer specifically but am interested in 8-bit design in general.  The VERA board would be a valuable addition to several of my projects.  I was unable to tell if the VERA module was available for sale by itself. If it is, would you please let me know?

Thanks,

Brian

I think you will have a hard time finding someone selling the VERA board by it self, but Frank has released it on github so you could get some made your self.
