I put mine on a clear acrylic plate. It protects the bottom of the PCB but still gives me full access to the top.

I have a Lazer3D case on the way, though. My X16 will eventually live in there.

Now that there is rumour of 1000 boards (hopefully post field trials/beta) being made by David on FB, this thread could get quite long.

My plan is to put a precious X16 in a simple case, hiding it away from prying eyes. I like the fancy cases both commercial and home-brew that have been developed, but I need to save for all the HW projects that I imagine(wish) to do with a production X16.

DEV0056 Has found its home.

So far all is well. I'm off work Wed/Thursday and have all the materials for building my case.

I would consider David to be an authoritative source, not just a rumor.

Once I get one from the second batch, I'm planning on putting it in one of the low-profile cases that are just sitting around here at work (one of the IT guys uses our remote office as a sort of lab, so various random parts seem to find their way out here).

Interesting note. I also recently acquired a "Semi-Retro PC" (Sony VIAO P3) recently and ordered a PS2 Keyboard and Mouse for it.
I got the Mouse today (Keyboard is coming from the Left coast so longer shipping)... Its EXACTLY THE SAME MODEL
They shipped with the X16.... lol.. So I got 2 of the same Mouse today.

And I have my own SD card already full of stuff.

I've been thinking about that. I'm going to move this registry to a Google Sheet... beyond that, I'm not sure what to do with the next batch... Maybe a custom page that lets forum users register their boards with a photo.
