You probably found it already, but here is an example of the early Tandy version [ notice no score or menu bar at the top ]
(exactly one minute in this)

For extra credit you could simulate the disk loading noises when going to the next screen ^.^ MooingLemur put disk noises in the startup of SecondReality - first time I ran that, I had to look around, trying to see what system I left on and why its disk drive was making noises. Took a few moments to realize it was coming from the X16.

Re: AGI Interpreter February 2025 Update
The DOS and Tandy versions of AGI games are the same files (that's the whole point of an interpreter lol) except for very early versions of Kings Quest. For the DOS interpreter it just plays the first voice in the sound file.
I got 3 voice sound working on the PSG. I wrote a player for AGI sounds. I'll see if I can dig it up. It sounds great.

Re: AGI Interpreter February 2025 Update
I hear you. The information that I had, which could be wrong, was that the sounds were taken out of the DOS resource files for disk space reasons.cosmicr wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 5:38 am The DOS and Tandy versions of AGI games are the same files (that's the whole point of an interpreter lol) except for very early versions of Kings Quest. But I admit that that was just what Chat GPT told me. So I should have really done some more digging myself.
It sounds as though you have disproven this.
Re: AGI Interpreter February 2025 Update
If you hadn't said those were bird chirps, I'd have thought there was a bug in the program. Hey, it was a PCjr. Those things sucked.
Re: AGI Interpreter February 2025 Update
Haha!
I first experienced that audio on the Tandy 1000SX, never actually had a PCjr. Which yes, those systems had numerous issues- a lousy wireless keyboard, sidecar expansion similar to what the TI-99/4 had already tried earlier, its own proprietary cassette cable and joystick interface.
In KQ2, up one scene from the start (or thereabouts) is the splashing of the waves noises.
