Hi!

I'm probably doing this wrong, but I wanted to add this to the introduction thread.

I bought my first computer in 1978, a TRS-80 model 1. I still own it, but I have to replace all of the capacitors on the mother board. I also have 2 CoCo 2s and I bought the component mod for the first one which I will install. I have a later CoCo 2 which I thinking of putting a VGA mod on. I do have that "toy" Commodore 64 I bought from Amazon ($37.88) which I can learn from. I'm trying to find some other computers. I'd love to get a TRS-80 Model 4. I had the 4P which I loved. I modified that by putting in 2 double sides 40 track drives and put a cable for two 80 track drive externally. I also had the Green Screen Mod, the 1200 baud (or was it 2400? I did this in mid to late 80s and early 90s. It's hard to remember.) third party modem and the Hires board. I'm sorry I traded it for a stock Model 4 for my BBS.

I'd also like to find some Tandy 1000s. I'm going to run most of these on my 47In Samsung TV which I mounted on the wall over the other computer table. Also an Apple II.

I'm excited about David's project. I'm looking for a mother board with HDMI and PS2 and USB connections. I'd love to see all of the chips socketed. I have an old ATX case which I have to clean up.

I'd like to thank Perifractic as I bought some of his tools from Amazon and set up my soldering station.

And finally for Adrian's Digital basement, I have the same circuit board holder you have. All you have to do is get the right size Aluminum channel (4FT) long, cut it and half, put two small bolts through each end and you can replace the base. Then you can put those 16IN boards (Model 1) and flip them. A little hack for you. I'll take a picture when I finish it this weekend and post it.

I enjoy watching you folks on YouTube.

I'd love to network these and maybe bring back my two BBS Softwares (TRS-80 and MS-DOS) back to life.)

Thanks!

Richard

Welcome! You've packed a lot into your introductory post. It gives a good background on where you've come from plus where you want to go. I'm sure it could spawn many replies; perhaps you might want to take one item and post about it in-depth in one of the sub forums. The posts on the forum do spin off some new threads, but most evolve/morph as people react and respond as they see fit. No one seems to gets wound up about it, and there aren't "forum cops" who want to moderate people to death.

Anyway, welcome again. It sounds like you've found the right community! ?
