Hello, I have fond memories living in Rotherham, UK as a teen, the home of Krisalis Software on Moorgate Road near Rotherham town centre, and Gremlin Graphics not too far away in neighboring Sheffield. MicroFun in Rotherham market was where we bought our game tapes from. Rotherham's looking rather derelict in places now and the strip of shops where MicroFun was is a bit of a ghost town. As a pre-teen I remember dabbling in programming on the C16, Acorn Electron, BBC Micro and the C64 in BASIC and assembly language using Assembler 64, then I moved on to the Amiga and then through all the modern systems. Currently working as a full stack software developer, teaching online for a UK University on Coursera, and in my spare time working on the following projects:
- https://dexode.app - web3 based cryptocurrency transaction curation, capital gains and income tax calculator.
- pixelcode C++ cross-platform game engine and game editor
- pixelcode X16 game editor and assembly language compiler (https://github.com/pshdev0/assembly-sub-compiler) IDE with data editor with views for sprite, tiles, data, etc for desktop
Excited to be part of Commander X16 developer community. A modern 8 bit computer is way more fun than modern computers
