Hello all!
I have been in the computer hobby since i was programming a Texas Instruments TI-58 Back in 1978. I latter bought a TI-59 and began programing a CALSPAN Midi-computer (via a Texas Instrument terminal for U.S. Navy war games simulations. Later I was introduced to a Ohio Scientific subscription computer and began to learn BASIC. In 1981 I purchased a Mattel Intelevision awaiting the arrival of it's keyboard to make it a full-blown microcomputer, but the keyboard was only released in Seattle and New Orleans and I was stationed in Los Angeles so couldn't get one. The keyboard was quickly discontinued.
My first microcomputer was a VIC-20 in 1982 and I was on my way. Later that year I had a Atari 400 and still later an Atari 800.
From there it was a Timex/Sinclair, Commodore-64, Cpmmodore-128, Atari 520ST, Atari Mega 2 ST, then finally in 1987, my first MS-DOS PC, a Sanyo MBC-880 and it has been a variety of PC since. Various desktops and laptops. Later after I retired from the U.S. Navy in 1996, I purchased my first iMAC in 2004. I have over a half dozen computers. The ones I actively use is a custom built Intel Core i7 desktop, a 2011 iMac, a 2011 MacBook Pro (last model with an optical drive), an Hewlett-Packard 13" laptop and a 15" Asus Stric Scar. I also have a Raspberry Pi with over 50,000 games and emulators, and a THEC64 Maxi by Retro Games. After retiring I put my self learned computer skills to work as a second career. I am a certified CIW Internet Designer, CompTia Network Certified and a Microsoft Certified Systems Administration and Engineer up to Windows 2003. I quit my computer career in 2008 during the Great Ressession when thousands were laid-off in Las Vegas and I could no longer find a job in IT in Las Vegas. I got so behind in my certifications and experience I was considered unhireable. I was unemployed for a while then I began driving for Uber and Lyft. So, I fully retired in March 2020 when COVID-19 hit and later I lost my right leg due to prosthetic knee infections. And here I am. I do not care for object-oriented programming nor Visual Basic. I miss the good old BASIC programming. That's why I am interested in the Commander X16.
