Well, this project is all kinds of exciting.
I bought my first 8-bit box of magic in 1980. I could only afford a Vic 20 at the time but really wanted an Atari 400 but the Atari was too expensive at 1.75 times the price. I got enough cash together and went to the store to buy a Vic 20 and to my delight, there was a special deal going on the store's last remaining Atari 400 at the same price as the Vic 20 so I bought the Atari instead. A year later I had an Atari 800 and the rest is my 8-bit history.
My Atari experience across the 8-bit and 16-bit ST range paid off as I found myself hired as a staff writer for Atari ST User magazine from UK publisher Europress. From there it was Technical Editor and finally Editor. Then I moved on to Amiga Computing magazine as Technical Editor and finally on to PC magazines such as PC Home and CD-ROM Now. It was quite a ride playing with computers for a living.
Best of luck to everyone involved in trying to bring this new box of 8-bit magic into the world.

Re: Hey from Manchester, UK
Welcome.. Always happy to greet a new face from the U.K.
American born and bred here, A Hoosier(slang for Indiana state citizen) that
was actually born in San Bernadino.
I spent some of my Childhood years in the UK while my Dad was working at the embassy.
Always like the British entertainment scene and the culture. And I remember a lot
of the Great sites in London even from that young age (1st - 5th grade).
